8/07/22: Arm Wrestle
With her slowed down perception of time, Lakong was just barely able to avoid the beam of heat exploding beside her.
She raised out an arm, and one of her bracelets melted into a crystalline shield that blossomed around her. The next beam of heat hit it and instantly dissipated.
“Give me the Mirror!” the Lich said.
“Never!” Lakong replied.
Suddenly, a sunbeam struck down from the sky. Her shield began splintering. She looked down at her arm. There was only one bangle-spell left.
“Deus Ex Machina!” she shouted. A giant hand appeared from nowhere, and pinched the beam of sun into nothingness.
“I request instant resolution to this conflict!” she said. The hand reached out towards the Lich as if to swat him like a fly.
“Deus Ex Machina!” the Lich shouted. Another giant hand appeared from nowhere, and smacked the other hand away.
“Well I’m out of spells,” the Lich said.
“Me too,” said Lakong.
The two hands wrestled each other, flattening trees and rubble in a trail behind them. The two of them sat there for a while, watching the scene before them.
“Well what do we do now?” Lakong said.
“Want to go to Phil’s?” the Lish said. “They have a great knock-off McDonald’s menu.”
“You’re not gonna after me for the Mirror anymore?”
“Naw. I’m into macmuffins now, not macguffins.”
