Yeah! In the Match that's used by the U.S. medical residency program, it allows for something called "couples matching," which is when couples rank paired combinations of programs. But this pretty explicitly was not accounted for in the original algorithm; the match was never built to truly accommodate for trainees having partners. So in real life there are edge-cases that end up having suboptimal solutions. Thanks for reading!

This was great fun. I liked how the reader could see Sam's hostility wearing off; the scene with her following his conversation advice with his friends was great for that. And then just when it seemed like things were happy, you throw the big spanner in the works, which leads to the fascinating conclusion.

I love how benevolent the AI comes across, while still being utterly shocking to the characters... it's like you've spent your life praying to Jesus and then suddenly get a detailed revelation of love from a different person of the Trinity. Super cool.

I really like your description of "different person of the Trinity," it's apt and also a different take than what I was thinking in my head when I was writing the AI. Originally, the AI was waaay more irrational, almost like it was watching the people on the Archimedes like they were on a reality TV show. But I wanted to make it a little sweeter :)

Thanks for reading!
